No bullsh*t, all facts ! Growing up black was such a struggle in itself. But since there’s “Karens & Kens” out here in this world that still think that racism does not exist ...let’s just address the elephant in the room. It’s taking up too much space ...annnnnndddd I don’t like dat *in my Caresha voice* !
When I was younger, I noticed that the biggest problem in the world was taught less than problems we had already solved. If you think that racism isn’t an ongoing issue, then I’m here to tell you baaaabbbyyy IT IS! Oh and if you ain’t pro-black and believe my life doesn’t matter....you might wanna stop here cause this next line is most definitely gonna make you feel some type of way ...you ready? *clears throat sarcastically* Inject yo lips and kiss my NATURALLY BIG BLACK A** !!! Mkaaay, now that we got all the people who was born with the upmost respect for ALL humans, let’s talk about it. When I was in school, I got bullied for 3 things, being “fat”, being too curvy too young and being too black! Half the time I didn’t even realize I was being bullied by even some of the white teachers. I remember when I was in middle school and my English teacher ( I know, it’s always the d*mn English teachers, right ? ) she kept telling me how surprised she was at my grades being that they were sooooo good. Realization later in life: my black a** wasn’t supposed to be that smart because back in the day, we were labeled as stupid. Tuhhh, not my ancestors hunny! Same teacher, said that she would want to adopt me because she had never seen such a beautiful black girl like me before. Realization later in life: we were always painted out to be the “ugly ones” just because the color of our skin. When I tell y’all, we are THE most versatile humans on this earth. We come in all kinds of shades, shapes, and sizes ...I like to call us “The BlackPrint“ ! Cause the amount of money these doctors are making off of these people out here tryna look like US...but that’s another conversation for another day chillleeee.
She even said to my face, and I quote, “I just wouldn’t know what to do with your hair.” Girrrrrrlllllllll, not you understand estimating the power of #BlackGirlMagic
So, I found it very difficult to trust white people because even at a young age, I knew the things that I was being bullied about made me feel uncomfortable and have anxiety. The little bit of knowledge they actually taught us in school had me terrified about the possibility of the world being segregated again. I felt the need to always do better in school. Better than the white kids, and hide in the shadows of those people because even though I was a very bright kid, I never received the type of praise I deserved. Realization later in life: THEY. NEVER. WANTED. TO. SEE. ME. WIN !!!
One thing bout us black folks though, oh we gon win.....REGARDLESS! The odds have always been against us, and yet we still rise. We still overcome. We are resilient. We are smart. We are successful. We are amazing. We are loud. We are proud. We are KINGS. We are QUEENS. We are BEAUTIFUL! But most importantly, WE ARE BLACK!!! Nooooooobody can do us like we do. So, let’s continue to win. Let’s continue to strive. Let’s continue to be entrepreneurs. Let’s continue to take over the world, together...united as one! Remember, we are all beautifully and wonderfully made by God! The creator himself. Oh and guess what, he makes no mistakes. We are kingdom people, and NO weapon shall prosper!
