Listen life be tewwww muchhhhh sometimes! Like girl, can you chill out! I mean it’s always something…and if it’s not this, it’s that! WHEN WILL IT EVER STOP!!! Eventually, that’s when.
Troubles won’t last always. We as humans tend to forget that. Trust me, I get it! You’re in a situation where it seems like this will be your life forever. I’ve been there before. Shit, I’m there now. The difference between when I’ve been there before and where I’m at now is the knowledge I have with how to cope and deal with it. When life hits you hard, the main thing I do is go into protection mode. I gotta protect my peace, my environment, my energy, and most importantly my mind. Mannnnn, it gets tough when negative things are going on all around you but, that’s when you dig deep into: coping mechanisms. Let me break it down for you real quick.
COPE | verb
manage
deal with
So when I’m trying to manage my emotions or deal with the issues at hand, it is imperative to me that I can create my own personal space. A space that is not open for others to enter without my consent. A space in which I feel safe to be completely vulnerable. A space where I call home and also an escape. I don’t do much talking in this space so I also distant myself from others. Process of isolation can be very annoying because I’m already at a place where I don’t necessary want to talk. So explaining this to others isn’t really on my agenda hunny…*insert eye roll*! But dealing with all of this is hard enough, I just want people to understand this…when I’m ready to talk, I will. You see how simple that is?
Now, I’m just speaking on my own personal experiences. Everyone has their own way of coping with things. I guess I said all that to say this….learn what works for you. Do it and be selfish about it. Don’t let others think you’re being inconsiderate for putting yourself first!
